The Social Media and Internet in Law Enforcement conference here at the Chicago Police Department today is in full swing, and Dave and I are really happy to play a part in it.

We arrived this morning to hear Anne Schwartz, the Communications Director of the Milwaukee, WI Police, talking about the long lamented death of the news cycle, and how social media affects the ability of law enforcement to deliver unfiltered its message to as much of the community as possible –before others will do your messaging for you.

The affable Inspector Phil Knox of the Northern Ireland Police presented on how the Police Service in Northern Ireland developed its Facebook page and other social media, and how it has affected the department and the community.

I spoke on my now common refrain of utility, simplicity and integration, and you can download the presentation here.
